To Lorraine: "Leaf" - by Kay D. Haerland

                      

I made this "leaf" close-up using water-soluble 'Ultra-Solvy' as my stabiliser and free-motion stitching for the veins, om top of black bridal-veil tulle. I also added wool rovings and some chopped wool bits.

I attached the cording with my free-motion foot, and shaded it with a little orange paint. The small green veins hang free from the background.

Finally! my quilt for Lynn.
We knock on doors and pass through many doorways in our lives, and of course we always hope for a big welcome!
I chose some contemporary door designs on the internet for my images.

Welcome to my castle by Ngaire

After some reverse sewing and camera problems I can finally post this quilt. I have always enjoyed reading Scottish history and decided that over the drawbridge was a good doorway into the castle.

Doorways to ... - Judith

A most interesting challenge requiring the little grey cells to rattle around a bit but finally “Doorways to ...” made it.  

This quilt was predominately made using hand dyed fabric, it is appliquéd, quilted and once more I used watercolour pencils to enhance and highlight.

You will have fun receiving all the little parcels and thank you for the challenge I enjoyed being made think outside the square.

Thank you for the challenge Lynn, I must say I left it until the last week to complete however it did happen

My challenge for the 24th project is "Up Close".

Number 10 - Kay

When I saw the challenge 'Doorways' the first thought in my head was 'Number 10', one of the world's best known doors. My research on the net revealed , in a photographer's blog, that the number one is ever so slightly larger than the zero, and the zero, while being perfectly round on the outside is an uneven oval on the inner edge. So here is a small section of that very famous door, 10 Downing St, London, SW1A2AA, United Kingdom.
