Oriental Ladies - Lynn

Japanese girls in kimonos - a symbol of the Orient. I photographed these girls in Kyoto. Are they Maiko, (apprentice geishas) or just having a fun day dressed up?

About Us

Stitching Across the Ditch: A group of twelve friends (four from NZ and eight from Australia) have decided to set ourselves a challenge! (Starting August 2010.) Every two months we will produce a small quilt with a theme chosen in turn by each of us. They will be 12" by 9" in size and can be portrait or landscape in orientation. We will post photos of our finished quilts before they are posted (snail mail) to the person who chose the theme. UPDATE: We have successfully finished our first round of challenges and start our next one on 1st August, 2012. Jane and Ruth are leaving us and we welcome Lynn and Mary. We are now 7 from Australia and 5 from NZ! UPDATE: We welcome a 13th member - Kay H from Australia!
