From a photo I took of a tiled wall, in the underground tube station at Piccadilly Circus, London.
This application of 'circus' meaning - "an open place at a street junction". Just watching the traffic at Piccadilly Circus was an experience in itself. Hope you enjoyed my version of your theme Deb.

"Circus" for Deb from Pam
CIRCUS for Deb from Pam
Enjoy the fun and laughter of the CIRCUS!
The Clown has always been my fondest memory of the circus.
We are in the process of moving house and things are a little hectic.
Please forgive me if I do not get our next challenge on the Blog in time.
however it will happen eventually.
I would be delighted to have Kay on our team.
Her enthusiasm and interest would only be an inspiration and joy to me.

"Under the Big Top" stitched by Margie for Deb
The circus: exciting, silly, energetic, dazzling, risqué, hold your
breath, laugh till you cry, suspend belief. I’ve used clashing colours and
patterns to depict this in my little quilt for Deb: “Under the Big Top”. Machine pieced. I have scribbled all over the
quilt with a running hand stitch using cotton thread hand dyed by Heather
Ridley. Like Lyn, I too was inspired by a circus clown, in this case David
McKee’s “Big Top Benn”, and also the brightly coloured costumes of his circus artists. Margie.
Deb - Cyrk Contortionist
Inspired by a magazine cutting of circus posters that I've had for years, I did some research and discovered that they were highly acclaimed Communist era posters by artists of the world famous Polish School of Posters. I really liked the contortionist and added some star sequins to add to the spotlight feel of the circus ring!

Circus Clown from Lynn
A circus has to have a clown, and this one was inspired by a picture of a clown which I found in Russia.
Deb, enjoy your circus.
