Summer 2016 was glorious in our little seaside village of Ohope.
The Pohutukawas were amazing much better than my rendition here.
The Island is Whale Island which sits a few kilometers off our coast, once owned by Maori but now a Department of Conservation reserve, with Kiwi and Tuatara and a refuge for sea birds.
This is what NZ ers think of when we think of our country.
